After the loss to the Falcons the Packers have added some new additions to the roster in hopes for a change.
LAKEN TOMLINSON, offensive lineman
Tomlinson is a 34-year-old veteran offensive lineman and was a 2015 first round draft pick from the Detroit Lions. The Packers signed Tomlinson off the Dallas Cowboys practice squad and with 162 starts in the NFL it will only help this young Packers offensive line. Tomlinson has played for five teams before the Packers and made the Pro Bowl in 2021with the San Fransisco 49ers. Tomlinson seems excited to get back to playing with his new team.
“I’ve been waiting to get back out there,” Tomlinson said to reporters in the locker room Monday. “I’m excited to get in front of the guys and get ready to work.”
Tomlinson seemed eager to help the young offensive line in any way he could.
“Any questions they ask I’ll try to be available to them,” Tomlinson said. “Just have that veteran presence…I want to be available for those guy any time they need ”
When asked about his availability for the Sunday game he said, “I’m ready to go.”
MEKHI BECTON, offensive lineman
Becton is a 27-year-old offensive lineman and he was a former 11th overall pick in the 2020 draft by the New York Jets. Becton played for the Jets, then won the Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024, and then played with the Los Angeles Chargers last season. After last season he became a free agent after the Chargers released him. Becton was rotated out of some games with the Chargers for “injury concern.” Even though he didn’t have a great year last year his presence will still add to the Packers beaten up offensive line.
KEVIN ZEITLER, right guard
Zeitler is a 36-year-old right guard and was drafted 27th overall by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2012. Zeitler played in six different teams before signing with the Packers and was selected for the Pro Bowl in 2023 when he was with the Baltimore Ravens. Last year Zeitler ranked 13th among the guards and 9th in pass blocking for right guards. In the beginning of the season Titans general manager described as “one of the best guards in football.”
After the singing of Tomlinson and Becton, offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich answered questions about the guys being ready for Sunday.
“I think it’s a possibility for sure,” Stenavich said. “We are gonna do whatever we can to put the best guys out there.”
These signings are definitely good news for Packers fans as they get ready to face the Buccaneers week 4.
