PACKERS NEWCOMER NAMED CAPTAIN

On Monday Packers revealed who their captains would be for their 2026 season. Four of the five of these captains were named captains last year as well. These captains are star quarterback Jordan Love, tight end Tucker Kraft, safety Xavier McKinney, and linebacker and special teams player Isaiah McDuffie. The other captain that was named might come as a shock to the fanbase. Linebacker Zaire Franklin, who was recently traded to the Packers this offseason from the Colts, was named one of the captains. Franklin was with the Colts for eight seasons and was named captain for six of them. After being traded, the linebacker heard nothing but praise from his new teammates. “Hell of a person, hell of a player,” said fellow captain Xavier McKinney. “From the leadership standpoint, he’s really going to help us in that aspect and then obviously his play speaks for itself.” To learn more about Zaire Franklin’s impact on Greenbay and his relationship with the new defensive coordinator, Jonathan Gannon.
